Lots of room for your fuel to go up yet. Here outside of Vancouver diesel is $2.00 a liter, which is I think around $7.50 a US gallon. It hurts but I don't see any of the coal rollers slowing down any.

They are still rolling in the US too but prices are passed on to the consumer, I hate to go to the grocery store, shipping has gone through the roof and the prices changes daily

I would expect to eventually see diesel prices back below gasoline prices, but it probably won't happen for another ten years or maybe more. Diesel costs less to produce than gasoline but the recent increases in consumer use (diesel cars) have shifted the balance between production and usage. As more electric cars come online this should shift back to where an artificial pricing structure shifted to balance production with usage is no longer needed, at which point we will see gasoline prices going up faster than diesel prices and they begin to balance out again. But other than a general wobble up and down the trend of prices is generally upwards, following our so called non-existent inflation rate, which shows up rather clearly in housing prices. Nothing new there, that's been going on for centuries and isn't about to stop.

Probably the only thing limiting the inflation rate, (sorry, I meant the non-inflation rate) is the immediate effect it has on the economy. Every major spike in prices immediately chills travel and vacation plans, and other uses of disposable income which then ripples through the country's finances and dampens commerce. It seems that recently our decision makers in industry and government have forgotten that and let themselves get carried away with greed. The short term gains result in long term losses that are not sustainable. Overall what's good for the unwashed masses is ultimately good for all.

But a barrel of crude produces almost twice as much gasoline as diesel fuel.

We are heading out to the 'ol camp ground for a few days.  I filled my tank with #2 diesel at $6.19 a gallon -- cheapest price in the county.  Ouch!  Jack

You all remember all the talk about the great reset when Biden got elected this is a big part of it in my opinion and it's going perfectly as planned they want to destroy the U.S through it's economy and there is no better way then through energy the engine of our country's economy and build back better remember? (really). Of coarse gas companies are seeking profits because the government is going to shut them all down in the name of climate change. I hope the hell someone can prove me wrong. Better order your windmills and solar panels now before they get to pricey for your electric buses.
Build back better not working we need to make American great again. Lets go Brandon!

I bet we'll see prices drastically reduce right before the election in 2024 so the current corrupt party in in office can claim credit for it!

Elections have consequence's,,<<<Dan

What, do you think presidents have some sort of dial in the Oval office that they turn to control fuel prices?  If they did they would want to turn it down during election years.  There is a certain war that pushed oil and fuel prices way up.

Haven't we all been here before?
A few of the factors this time around:
1) A lot of deregulation has taken place since the last round.
2) China is a major factor
3) The CV19 virus continues to disrupt global trade/production.
4) Ukraine

We might have been able to avoid this if we let Putin walk all over eastern Europe but that would result in an even stronger and bolder Russia to deal with in the future.
What pissed me off is the Saudis could have helped tamp down the rise but didn't want to offend Putin. So they screwed the US instead.
