Buswarrior, there are still WW11 veterans around....less and less of them, but they aren't all gone yet.
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

Yes, a few, but not likely the ones that dealt with maleria flare ups for the rest of their lives.

Grandfather went to Burma with the British, and maleria was his gift to take home and remind him irregularly of his "service" for another 55 years.

Same as the strange health issues that the troops came home with and continue to have flare-ups, with more recent activities, Desert Storm, etc, nobody wants to hear about it, or just cast aspersions on them.

Still lots of secret suffering that doesn't translate well into a cable channel "documentary" !

Happy coaching!

There are people whose life's path have led them to have illnesses that have left them with only a fraction of their natural bodies defense of bacteria and viruses invasion that surround us every day. Some of modern medicine cures save lives but leave you with a suppressed immune system, causing you to be more susceptible to catching the common cold or covid19 much easier and to a more severe case, even death...

There was also the forgotten war and Agent Orange. but I'd say the chemical effects were usually much milder than the social and economic ones. Still, they all linger on...

Its a protozoa or plasmodium - basically a single celled thing.  Definitely not a virus.

There are four species of Malaria parasites that are transmitted by mosquitoes. If the proper drugs are given it can be totally eliminated, if not, some people have the infection for decades. The military was not always consistent about treating soldiers properly. I was in a malaria prone area for over two years and I could not donate blood for over three years after leaving.

Guess this puts the malaria parasite higher up the complexity chain than viruses then. At least malaria has a cell and is alive - viruses are sub-cellular and technically are not alive. Amazing how much damage they can cause nonetheless.

not for long as the feds are about to put more restrictions in place for international flights . only 4 airports in all of Canada will allow flights in and there will be a mandatory covid test and you the flyer will have to stay in a selected hotel room close to the airport at your expense ( up to $2000 ) for 3 days to see what the test is . if it is positive the feds will send you to a holding location for 14 days . all flights to any islands are to be stopped as well

will it help ?with covid who knows

all the snowbirds that went south are pissed
