Nice to see an Eagle that still has the stepped roof. I have always like that, its unique these days and gives a little more natural light. Its a shame that so many have been capped.

Thank you for the comment. My Eagle even has the rear glass with emergency exit. Its a very cool bus that needed some love and it will now get it.

After the new year I get to finish stripping it out, cleaning out any rust, rust proofing, insulating and making a new home.

Its gonna be great!

Just enjoy the journey! It's a fun project just don't let it get you down because it will at times. It's the nature of the beast!  ;)

Just keep the rpm's up high on the hills and watch your temps. Wave as others pass you by and enjoy the scenery!  ::)

We bought a 1956 PD4104-1744 in November. It's put away for the winter, but thought I would share some pictures from the trip home.

Very nice 4104! If you don't have a project page, may I suggest you start one. That way all of your pictures can be in one place. That doesn't mean you can't post some pics in other places, it's just a place you can call home as you embark on this new journey.

I got this PG 2904-066 in March of 2015. We have put over 10k miles on it since then, the majority of those miles following Route 66 east, and returning west on Route 20. The Buick straight 8 was replaced by a Detroit 4-71 and 5 speed manual. It was originally converted in the late 60's, and was freshened up in 2004.

Really nice looking bus!

More pictures please...

That bra covering the front doesn't look great, but it will keep you warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The front of those buses is not well insulated, if at all, and air leaks through at speed. I wish I had one when driving in winter.
