In the little town of Hayden, just north of Coeur d'Alene, ID, there's a slowly growing PNW chain of hamburger restaurants called "Killer Burger." Unlike most burger joints, Killer uses fresh ground beef, creating a great-tasting product.  All of their burgers are bacon cheeseburgers (unless you request otherwise), with various toppings. Seasoned fries, too!

What's interesting is that their most popular option is what they call their "Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon Cheeseburger." Sounds weird, but it's actually quite good!

I think I'll take a ride over to Hayden right now and have one. . .

FWIW & HTH. . .  ;)

Johnsonville  Beer Brats everywhere what's the problem. You want good worst of all kinds find a German deli.

Don There used to be one at Manzanita where it tees into Auburn Blvd. :^
Thanks. Just discovering new food; I see Johnsonvilee even Walmart I think, will grab a pack then to a proper German deli. all i ever gone to was Italian deli. Good memory  -Four Seasons Market, Auburn and Madison. Funny Yelp lists Corti Bros but that's Italian. This is one I've heard people rave on https://lockefordsausage.com/menu

Cheese - that article was making me ill just reading it. Then again, nearly all commercial animal food business is pretty grim. There is a sliver of the market that has humane processes but we just see the wrapped package in the super. This thread has motivated me to seek out local independent butchers that source locally but it's really really hard to get clean food.

It is a crazy system we export good food then import crap for Americans to eat,you really have to watch chicken they raised here, gassed shipped to China for processing then shipped back here, and I don't eat farm raised fish you never know what you are getting or from where

The Braunschweiger is not so much a sausage as a pate. Liverwust in fact, often made from goose liver. That is probably just a trade name as likely as it is a type. Slice that moderate to thin with equal slices of cheddar and a generous amount of mustard and you have it. A must do if just for the taste experience. I know some of you have had sandwiches made with this and probably didn't care all that much for it but trust me on this one, it's one of those flavor combinations like Pepsi and Hershey's milk chocolate that are better than the sum of the parts.

We used to broil baloney in the oven. Cut little notches around the edge so it doesn't curl up (3 works if they are about an inch long) and be sure to remove the plastic off the edge. Sprinkle a little salt on before broiling and brown it good to bring out the flavor. I wouldn't go for a steady diet of baloney but it's definitely one of those things worth trying if the opportunity arises. Beats plain boloney with a baseball bat.

When I was in Army one of my guys liked Vienna Sausage's and he would put a can to heat up on the output port of the diesel heater in our M577A1 armored command post.

Our artillery battery commander was standing with his back to it and talking to me when the can blew up and distributed the contents all up and down his back after we had been in the field for a week.

Good Joe he didn't really git angry as he knew we were short staffed and couldn't always make it to the mess hall!!!
