Since my Jeep has an Italian motor, I call it my Ferrari!

I think if Detroit and John Deere would have kept VM they would have made those engines more reliable they were making good progress on the R-756 a 6 cylinder 160 hp engine for off road use,I had one that would drop a valve every other week took awhile but Deere finally figured it out and never gave much of problem after that

My son has the Chevy Colorado ZR2 with the 2.8L Diesel which he claims GM bought the rights to from VM Motori.  I did not investigate, but in the global market today could be true!

Wasn't the gm baby diesel sourced from Isuzu?

VM is the Dodge supplier?

I have an ED Dodge, it runs, and is prettty stingy on fuel. After that, i am proud to say my OCD hasn't got a clue, and has found no motivation to learn anything else about it.

Happy coaching!

No and any good looking ones are no where near us. Lots of nice ones out there but far away. Stuff in the NE are usually rust buckets. Real nice units in CO but were trying to find one closer
Thanks for the lead.

Not always we found ours here and it had been garaged. We asked for a lot of pictures of the bottom and front end before we went and looked. Found two that were rust belt specials but three that were not but price was to high if they are too clean with low miles. :^

Look for jeeps in Las Vegas, NV. There was a joke in high school and college, girl students would buy jeeps and join the jeep clubs to find a rugged guy. After they found him, they would sell it, lots of low mileage, never driven off road jeeps in town! Just fly here from anywhere and drive home...

Funny you should say that.  There was a time that I realized that all the Wrangler owners I knew were young women with no interest in off-roading.
You don't have to believe everything you think.

You can make a good bet that the 4x mechanics are not roughed up from off road use. Not sure the exact statistics but probably 99% of all 4x vehicles are driven on tarmac.

It is easy to tell if a vehicle has been run and used in off-road conditions. Buying one that lives a large metro urban is almost guaranteed to be to not been offered.

LOL - same think can be said of any 4x that has a super nice paint job and gleaming wheels and all the bolt on stuff. Never been off road or maybe once to get that impressive Insta or FB snap or video.

The ones that get used off road you see being trailer on the highway and they would win the most ugly contest.
