Was staying in Scottsdale, but had to move since they raised the rent from $400 to $750. Staying at Seyenna Vista RV Resort. Recently got a 90 day notice to vacate without good cause and it's legal. I've been the perfect tenant. I've kept my lot clean and weed free; and I listen to my computer with headphones as I live with a daysleeper... Rusty the Cat. They are moving all the Motorhomes out and replacing them with double wide units to garner more money for the lot. Many parks won't even consider you if you have a Motorhome older than 10 years.

Looking for a nice quiet place to park my MCI conversion. Really don't want to move to Apache Junction.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

Find a less popular area or one that isn't experiencing growth. Or just start paying the $750. Consider another state. These days, Everyone wants to live in Colorado or Arizona, including an increasing number from California.

Seyenna Vista RV Resort is in Mesa, there is nothing in Scottsdale,Cave Creek or Carefree, you are going to need to get out of the metro area go towards Wickenburg it is a nice area and has plenty of RV parks if you don't care for Apache Junction.Scottsdale don't even like us parking our RV on our own property I do it anyways and let them bitch,Phoenix has a dumb law you can park a RV but you cannot live in one at your home or property

Put a tent outside your RV... if anyone asks, you live in the tent.

Come up to Camp Verde and check the ones up here. Nice area and no big city to deal with. We live in Cornville and there are some here also.

That is a nice area, I tried to buy the property on the river to build a rv park but no luck. We have the 5 acres up front for sale now in front of where the new RV park is going in,looking at the drawing that is going to be a nice park

I been through the streets of Phoenix while picking up parts, and there are a lot of fenced in lots.  I know a guy in SF that rented a lot, lives in his bus, and has a locking fence/gate to keep people out.  You might try that approach.  Perhaps you could be a night time security guard and park for free!

Thank you Clifford Allen, I needed that, just the way I want to end my week.

My solution is that I'm looking to buy a small piece of property where I can put a power pole and a septic tank. If I can afford to pay someone $400 a month to rent a spot, I can certainly afford $400 a month to buy one that's mine. Since we live at the beach, we're considering living in the bus a couple of months in the summer and renting out the house during that time. Just a thought...

Do your due diligence! In the state of Washington, it is illegal to live in an RV expect in a permitted RV lot.

Geoff

Yes, the rules.  I would say not living in an RV is commonplace in populated places.  That is why there is stealth camping.

Ah, man schemes and then he dreams, then God looks down and smiles.  Be ready to do business with the Permit Nazi's, regulations, codes and whatever else they can think up.  As Lee has pointed out ...  Smart money would bet on doing the research first, and not on a bus board.

This lot that is your dream, might have restrictions, you check on that?  Just last week we were looking at a property and I asked the owner about covenants/restrictions on the land (10 acres) and he showed them to me.

Low and behold there it was "no buses."  Kind of set me back a bit, never seen that before.

When you dig the hole and sink the pole for the power, the people who like to stick their hands in your deep pockets and take your hard earned scrilla are going to come at you with a hand-full of permits, rules, regulations, and clipboards specifically designed to ruin your life and kill your dreams .... be ready.

Septic tanks require water to operate and use, what do you think is going to happen when you apply for water?  Give you three guesses and the first two do not count.

Hard to set your own chart in this country any more, in a lot of places they require a permit just to blow your nose these days.  Perhaps Clifford will come on and point out what it that we have missed, he has extensive knowledge of the pitfalls of construction and property ownership.

Interesting, most people set out to build a bus, and travel.  Not many come onboard and want to build one to sit in and vegetate.
