some may think any welding lenses will work safely..not true.
NASA says shade 14 minimum..i say maybe 12.
tho some say IF u are in the TOTAL elipse path you can view the TOTAL  moments bare eyed .  ???
if you are outside the path.....you will only get a partial eclipse.
be safe.
close your good eye and squint with your other one.... :P

The last time I remember that we had a solar eclipse I was in California and I was working in my shop.  I took a welding helmet and looked at the sun and it was a partial eclipse.  Okay.  I went back in the shop.

I just rechecked the map. The blue line goes right over where my bus is parked!
All I need do is simply step outside!

Loads of places to park busses fairly close here. It's very rural.

Looking at going up 395 that weekend. Will see how close I can get to the 100% eclipse zone, lots of national forest, blm land. If anyone has a better idead let me know.

B B:  Might want to check with BLM and the FS on road and access closures.  Also temp.  no stopping ordnances strictly enforced?  How that would be done is beyond me.  Have fun but do some research first.  Might serve well.
