Made it to San Diego no issues.  Did great on the grades and never went over 190

I think that engine has 9 lives ...

well yeah...it's a Detroit. Kudos to Scott, starting with gumption, he has just about single-handed erased the myth that Detroit's 2 strokes are a "specialized" motor...

Simple.

Anyone can do it's just the frigging "specialized" tools lol when I get finished with a 8v92 I know where you can buy a ton of the "specialized" tools like a 600 dollar hone . Anyone want to play a guessing game on what the cost was on that repair,I'll start with transportation, parts and labor I say around 5 grand + or - She has some bucks in that bus she will never get back,oh and don't forget Kevin in this deal

It's also good to know there is somebody that will hustle and come to you to get you out of a bind. Even though he's charging (sounds like peanuts too) it gives me a piece of mind. Hat's Off.

luvrbus

He is reasonable I can't pay my insurance and power bill for what he charges

The way I freak out over a problem I "think" i have, I'd fly that boy anywhere I was and put him up in the Hilton with room service.

LOL all you need Glen is a Pro/Link and printer you don't even get your hands dirty

Pro link huh? I'll get one as soon as I find one. I'm trying to spend my daughter's inheritance down. Already spent a fortune on college. Her turn to make it. ::)

LOL if your a betting man Clifford go on the plus side of that number.... :)  a little over 2500 in just parts this job got expensive.  I could have swapped the engine for 1/2 this cost of the job with a good running take out if she had time instead of needing a quickie repair.

Exactly $0 dollars of this investment will she ever see back in the sale of that bus.  But she gets to make it to her next shows and her cats have their home back.  They have a very specialized area in the bus where they live.  It's about 1/3 of the interior built out is like a kitty cat McDonald's play land with little cat condos all around it.  She couldn't just rent another rv like that for them to live in and play in.  The cat quarters in the bus are 10x nicer than the human areas!

One thing about driving a bus with 15 cats, 4 rats, 1 ground hog and a chicken is that something drops a turd about every 20 min like clock work I got a not so nice odor in the bus.  Umm unless the girl that was with me in the bus had really bad gas and just blamed the cats :)  driving that bus would not be my dream job.

If I broke down on the road, I would fix it. You have to do what you have to do. I couldn't abandon it. Doesn't matter what the bus is worth. It is worth fixing (to me anyway).

I hear that!

Professionals have overhead, and it is is not a highly profitable business doing bus/truck repairs for a living.

Having recently been in this situation I have to agree. My little experience has set me back north of 20K, and I am still cleaning up after the mechanic. (Just ran the rack yesterday. Left bank was not reaching full fuel, valve clearances were all over the place, and right bank jakes oil tubes were left about 5 or 6 turns backed out. Oh and high speed was only 2150, I ran it up to 2350.)
Some are called, some are sent, some just got up and went.
