I don't think she'll be too disappointed as that one came from a Kickstarter campaign too - I believe.  I think she's got about 70k into it though, which is about standard investment for a bus owner into a 10k bus from my experience  :)

Ain't that the truth. Think your getting into the Bus deal with a low price and look up several years later and could have bought a new one to wrap a fortune in. It never stops whether new or old. Kinda like I learned in the ranching business. How to make a million in the small cow operation, Start out with 2. Good luck and glad you're helping the Lady!

It does make it a lot easier when one is playing with other peoples monies, most bus owners don't have that luxury like she does.
It's diffidently a different world now than I have been living in. I saw a new way to sell a bus the guy is on Gofund asking for 8 grand for his bus he been trying to sell if he gets the 8 grand he is going to donate the bus to a vet, so far it's not working for him

From Phoenix to San Diego which route is easiest on the bus?  8 or 10?  I've driven 10 2x in my bus but always the other direction.  Never been on 8

8 westbound has a big hot climb after Ocatillo when it climbs off the desert floor up to Jacumba and Boulevard  -  they're in the high country south of Julian.   If it's a hot day that climb between the bare rocks can be tough on an old vehicle.

I'm getting the build sheet from the reman engine.  American fleet did it.  But clearly it's not their fault it's in the condition it's in. I told them the overheating and low coolant issues to assure them it was not their fault.

I don't have a piston for it.  It's got the single piece trunk style In it and I only have two piece style Pistons here plus it's got 5193734 twenty thousandths over and I only have 3 standard. And a couple #4's. So I'll need to just get a whole kit for it.  I'm glad I got the build sheet.

Sounds like the puzzle is getting harder and the only solution is getting easier. Since it's a gmc the motor probably turn counter clockwise and eliminates a take out motor and the parts
Are older style and not to mention its in the middle of nowhere. Just because it's in Phoenix, down town at that, it may as well be on the side of the road. That is where it will be the next time it breaks. Even if you get it running, it sounds like she can't drive it. Sounds like the prevost is next on the list.

I checked and have a set of 8 but they are .005 over plus they are cross head, you are going to need a connecting rod too the old 5135756 rod will bend 99% of the time when a liner breaks
