All "D" MCIs are 102". DLs are 45' long. Since that's the way this coach is listed, I assume it's 45.

Somebody buy the bus it would be a shame to see Sam make a 45ft long X 3 ft thick piece steel of out of it and Sam enjoys his work it looks to me

park it on a lake or a mountain top and use it as cabin

Not on the exterior. The biggest issue is Sam Caylor said the main Ibeams that run front to back are starting to rust. He said depending on the climate, it probably has another four years left.

I remember when you found out about the corrosion in the main frame rails. I was actually really upset for you. I don't quite understand what the frame rails are, I don't know if my MCI MC-5C has them.

The D uses the integral construction like a Prevost and Eagles it has 2 beams that go from the front to the rear you can remove the siding inside and out, the floor and the roof and drive it

Sadly, you are probably headed exactly for the exact same thing. Your only saving grace might be if it wasn't ever operated in the winter/wet/salt.

The MC-5 I guess you remove the skins and the floors and the roof, it kind of sags in the middle and moans and drools...

Seriously, my biggest fear on my generation of bus is the air beam and it's supports into the frame. Sure you can plate the air springs, but the structure that they feed load into is pretty critical.

Thanks john. I was tempted because we want 45 feet and 102, but i really think a truck conversion may be in our future . Not sure tho
