I had worked with the yard and they have agreed to a 20 cents per pound price. I came back in town to get it sold, and since it did not sell it is off to the scrap yard. I just don't have the time to make another trip back into this state to try and sell it again. I had the reserve at 4000. I have already pulled the roof air, electrical, water tanks, fridge, heater, and some other odd and end stuff for someone who is doing their own conversion.

Like the others, I hate to see it go to the scrap yard, but .20 a pound is a great price. The recyclers in my area (Atlanta) are offering about 1/2 that for "unprepared" metal.

Yeah... guess how long it takes to scrap one out and make all the clean aluminum in the proper lengths.... Another guy and I did one around 12 yrs ago... not doing that again cause i think collecting cans on the edge of the road pays more per hour... ;D

It was converted today to nearly half a million pennies. I really hated to do it, but living in a different state as the bus and having no real reason (anymore) to own a bus put me in this place.

$0.20 pound, engine and all, running and driving it in across the scales?

Yep. I had to negotiate before I went there with several places to make sure I got a good price.
