I was under my 4106 trying to find a way to turn the heat off. Just under the front end behind the bumper, I came across a sliding door. It would not move so I got a hammer and worked her open. Low and behold Under the front end was a spare tire! I can not for the life of me figure out how it would ever come out! There are no hinge points! I see now way for it to every come out. I would like to take it out and put a real spare on it, or take it out and save the 150LBS that it is carrying. If anyone has this type of spare please chime in. I can post picts if anyone is interested,.
You can have this bus when you pry her from my cold dead fingers.

lol  unscrew your bumper..usally 2 big bolts...it's probably hinged .....it's great when we find "new" stuff in the busses......s..........
Sometimes the more I think about something the less I think about something.    As soon as I save a little money my bus finds out.                                      Why grab a plane when you can take the bus ?                         If I'm wrong 10% of the time how can the "Queen" be right 100%

This is great stuff! I love it!  :D  You need to get yourself a manual.

What's up with GM hiding that tire  :D :D Sorry Mike, had to say it. Glad the P.O. took the time to show you, LOL!

I have slowly been working my way though the manual. The PO only drove it like 3k miles but had it for like 10 years so He can not provide me with much, even though I talk to him all the time. I need a 4106 bus nut in the st. Louis to come out and show me the ropes.

look at the front bumper  you will see 2 holes and behind them you will see 2 bolts attached with chain, unscrew them and the bumper will fall forward exposing the spare tire.

Get your nose into the book, and put that hammer away!

There are two holes in the front bumper, if you have the correct tool, I believe it is a hex head bolt, unscrew and the whole bumper will fold down to reveal you spare tire..

Removing the front bumper bolts?
A 15/16" 12 point 1/2" drive standard socket and extension will work if you do not have the "Budd" nut tool that came with the coach.
Note these a special bolts that have a chain to keep them from getting lost when they are removed from the front bumper structure ;D

It kind of makes sense when you think of it that a Budd socket would work.  How many people have decided to carry a spare tire unmounted as their spare?  I am thinking of going that way, on the basis that for four of the positions a tire guy could change the tire on the bus.

These bolts are removed with the lug wrench that came with the bus, or any wrench that will fit your lug nuts.

BEWARE, this bumper will free fall and really hurt if you or any of your parts are under it!!

Don't ask me how I know this!!

I added some springs to mine but it is still a hazard to life and limb.

mike, I "found" my spare the same way you did.Through the peep hole...LOL It was a while back but still a great memory. Good fun here today.  P.S. by the way if your 41 is like my old Buffalo 49 was, you can open another panel on the drivers side of the bus directly beneath the drivers seat area. Hint: the release handle is hidden along the bottom edge of the bumper on that corner panel. Reach up behind with your fingers and you'll find it....Lots more good stuff inside here too ! just FYI................s...........
