I'm putting up pocket style doors for my partition doors.  The problem I'm having is finding a latch that will work on my thin doors.  My doors are going to be 1 1/8" thick.  However, all the latches I'm finding are from 1 3/8" in thickness or greater.  Does any one know of a source for a latch that will work on my thinner doors?

Brian my door is only 3/4 inch plus formica. I used a barrel latch to keep bathroom door going to kitchen open while travelling. Thinking about adding one to keep the door closed. That will make a smaller space to cool!

Steve, the first latch is interesting, but will not work for me.  My doors are surface mounted on the wall and exposed on the bathroom side.  The second latch is in line with what I need, but it needs to latch in the closed position.  Thanks for the ideas!

Brian this is one very similar to give youan idea as to what we used but ours is gold and a lot smaller!

Got it Ace, Thanks!  That could work.  You just wouldn't be able to unlock the bathroom from the outside.  Not that that is a bad idea ....!

This is what we have Brian.  I have no idea where it came from but it definitely is available.  The latch pops out and there is a pull mechanism incorporated as well.

Here is one for an 1 1/4 in door. What do I win for finding it? Please tell me what I win BEFORE looking at the price of the latch  :o :o

Well, you got 10 "atta boy's" for finding something.  Then you lost 20 "atta boy's" for sending my hopes up only to be dashed by the need to commit my first born in order to be able to buy it.  So, you are at a negative 10 "atta boy's" right now....

I figure you are looking for a privacy (lockable) latch if, not in tight spots I have used  magnets or  a spring loaded ball that latches into an matching indent.

Brian, check the marina hardware. I found the latches for my bedroom and bath doors at the one in Rogers. Not pocket doors, but thin. Of course, I had to pay about $90 each for them.
They may have some pocket door hardware that will work for you. I think some of the higher end cabin cruisers use pocket doors.

Without tearing my door latch apart and looking for a mfr. name I can't 100% guarantee that this is the same latch but I am sure enough that it is that I would wager a decent single malt.  I know the specs say 1-3/8 but my door it only a hair over 1" so either there are different versions of this hardware or you can get away with using it on thinner doors.
