I have Nehr windows in this bus and I have in the past looked them on here on the internet.  But for some reason I can not find them any more, I have tried yahoo and google and nothing.  Can some one point me in the right direction to find replacement window screen frames and or screens.  I have 4 of the windows in this bus 2 of them have opening at both ends (6 openings) and I only have screens on 2 of them the others don't even have the screen frames any more.

I found them on the web at one time and read where they had the window style and or part number and i was trying to find the number on the window and did not see it I was tying to go back to the web site to make sure I was looking in the right place.  And I could not find it.

I think these windows are comon I have seen them on lots of rv's and travel trailers I think.  Mine are about 20 inches tall for the glass size  lenght vary.

Does any body know where I can get the replacement screens?

Bob,
Are you sure they are Nehr?   Hehr is a company that makes many RV and van conversion windows.  We have a couple of there windows we purchased as surplus in Elkhart and 1 we had custom made by them.  Jack

OK my mistake.

Now we have that figured out does any body have any good sorces for parts ike screens for these?

I will re search that.

Some times I wonder about myself, maybe my wife is right when she said I was stupid.

I might need to go back to bed and get up on the other side of the bed,  I chased the wife out of bed and got out on her side this morning.  I guess that was a BIG mistake.

Thanks

If they are Hehr windows, contact Bontragers in White Pigeon Michigan, I just bought 4 tinted thermopane sliders w/screens from them for 20 bucks each and they are brand new, they have hundreds of windows and probably have the screens you need, might even be cheaper to buy the whole blooming window from them than to buy just screens from someplace else, then you can sell the unneeded window to cover the cost lol.  The rough opening of the ones I bought were 28x51, but they seem to have every concievable size ever created lol.

thanks Cody

What town did you say they were in?

So I can look up a phone number for them.

Thanks

I found out why I could not find the part number on my windows thier web site states.

" If you are replacing a Hehr window, you can order with a Hehr Part number which can be found on the inside frame of the window, you will need to take the window out of your application for that number. If is a long number with dashes."

You have to pull them out to find the number inside the mounting frame.

Hope I don't have to go that far to get screens.

well that sucks.
I would think if you call Bontragers with the deminsions and style or maybe send them a picture they could match up something. they deal with these all the time so I am sure they would recognize them.
good luck

You should be able to just measure the screen size then bontragers will send one of the guys out with a tape and see what they can find for you, they are really good at helping, even better if you can get into that area, rent a 53 ft box van and go and load up some of their bargains, they sure got a bunch of stuff there lol.  With the economic downturn in the RV industry they got an incredible pile of goodies to get rid of. lol

Thanks Guys.

I ask the wife and she said NO I could not go up there.  TOO far and too expensive.  I will try to call them I am guessing they are closed today as it is aa holiday.  I will e-mail them or try to call tomarrow.

I have a truck and a 40 foot box trailer i guess I could have used that.  But i think I would have to open a store here to make it worth the trip from Texas.

I tried to get a price quote from Hehr for replacement glass and such for my windows and it was a pain to find the right contact.  MCI wants $400 some for new thermopane glass.  Hehr was charging something like $600 to buy direct.  Motion Windows/Peninsula only wanted about $400 each for all new windows with sliders.

Hehr wanted something like $1500 for an exact replacement window with sliding window instead of fixed.

Hehr has a different corner radius than most anyone else (At least on coach/transit windows).  This means I couldn't just drop a replacement window in the original hole.  I ended up covering all the windows and installing six Motion Windows.

The corner radius were exactly the same on the Hehr windows I just installed as the original windows I took out of my eagle.  With the inventory of hundreds of windows, all differrent sizes and types I saw at bontragers, I can't imagine why anyone would pay what motion or the other companies want.  I was pretty happy with the 20 dollars I paid each for my new windows, the quote I had gotten from Penninsula/Motion was 360 bucks each plus 60 for shipping with a 6 to 8 weeks waiting period. The waiting period at Bontragers was the length of time it took me to pull them down off the rack, and 80 bucks bought me 4 of them lol.

My bus had Hehr Coach/Transit windows which are different from Hehr RV windows.  The corner radius on the Hehr windows was 4".  The replacements I could find were all 3" radius.  I ended up skinning over the windows so I could use 3" radius windows.

It is likely that other bus makes like Eagle used 3" radius windows.

I'm not saying that everyone should run out and buy Motion Windows.  I just had problems finding someone to deal with at Hehr and that ultimately it was cheaper to get Motion windows than to pay $400 each for glass replacement plus labor.
