Hello, all:
While in the course of my daily employ, I found an Ingersoll-Rand 'Light Tower' in good operating condition that will be going to auction (if not sold).
Its a 3 cyl Kubota diesel, runs at 1800rpm, shows ~4500 hours on the hourmeter (it was a 'Caterpillar Rental' until last year then sold to a construction company that recently went broke).
I believe its likely got a 4kw generator head, but can't confirm as yet.  It may be a 6kw but unlikely any larger. It will be wired 120 or 120/240 volt.
If I'm not wrong, this could make a dandy genset for the bus.
I know Kubota are great engines; is there anything peculiar about these units? to look for?
Comments are welcome as always.
Regards.

I bought 4 of the light tower units last year check and see if it is rated for Forest Service use if it is it will be a low decibel rating and 1 of mine is a 7kw unit but the others are 6kw and the engines are good for 15,000 to 20,000 hrs so I was told. There is a manufacturer's plate on the unit that will tell you the decibel rating at 25 ft some of those units are quite
