Bet that title had you thinkin what??????    Anyway a few weeks ago we were at Lowe"s and up by the checkout stands  where they have the odds and ends items, i noticed that they had wearable led headlamps for 6-15 bucks. They take 3 AAA batteries and depending on what model you buy will last for 50-75 hours.  I bought 3 different ones and have been impressed with the amount of light they put out. sure is nice not to have to try to hold or prop up a flashlight so you can see what you are doing.....really nice to have both hands free for working too!   Also you can tilt the lights  while wearing them so you have a better angle.
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

I first bought mine two years ago at the flea market side of the Pomona L.A. county fair.  It had 8 small LED's and worked well.  Of course it only lasted a few months.  Now I have another one with only one big LED that is brighter than the old one with 8 LED's!  Amazing what technology will do.  Those head worn headlights are absolutely the best and highly recommend them!! Good Luck, TomC

Tom, isn't that a great flea market? I do not think I ever made it thru the complete market in one full day of looking.

I have one of those head bands for a "Mini Mag". Works great when you need it!!!
But I recently bought a "really small (short)" LED light. I ordered it from the same company when I bought my LED lights for the bus. I liked it soooooo well, I bought 3 more!!! One for each of my vehicles!!! And have turned several friends on to them!! So I figured, "you guys are my friends"  ;D ;D ;D Right?!?!   ::) ;D
Anyway, they plug into your lighter to stay charged and will burn for 2 hours. And MAN are they bright!!
Now... I have no interest in this company but I am really impressed with this product. I hope this doesn't violate the advertising policy because you'll like this product also:

I have a couple of the headlights.  It is funny that, since we have all seen the old minors hats, these things were not commonly available forever.  Nothing like it for getting under the dash.

Chaz,
That cigarette lighter LED looks great.  There is a company that has all sorts of accessories for the mini-mag.  I got their kit for turning it to an LED with a push button switch on the back.  I also bought their fiber optic attachment for directing the light around corners.  I have not really used that yet, and wonder what I did with it.  Anyway, no need to apologize, I, for one, am happy to hear about your little product even if you are making a fortune on it.

I used to have one I wore all the time when I was repo'ing! It came in real handy to be able to keep both hands free & still see!  LOL! I haven't seen that thing since I don't know when! ;D  BK  ;D

Headlamps, Wow over 40 years ago when I went to work on the midnight shift as a aircraft mechanic in line maintenance for a major air carrier in Miami,Florida every one had a headlamp that was made by Justrite.
It had a battery pack that you wore on your belt the battery pack contained 4-D cell battery's.Connected to a cord to the head lamp
The head lamp used a #425 bulb and it had a switch to turn the head lamp off or on.
It was a very handy when you were doing maintenance on a airplane.
I still have that old head lamp and every now and then it's used when I work on the old GMC Buffalo.
I have a Stream Light LED head lamp now and it's way ahead of the old Justrite it's brighter and it only takes 3-AAA battery's and a lot more compact.
But like the old saying.
That's Progress you see!

The bright compact LED headlamps have made my job much easier. It's like having a third hand. Couldn't work without one.

Another great tool of must have to save your tongue and time.

Although my is the headband type and wear glasses. I think led lamp in frame is better but wonder if they have them for prescription glasses frame?

Funny you should mention the eyeglass/light combo.  I have progressive lens eyeglasses, and the one problem with using the headlight is getting to light to the particular focal point on the glasses since my head has to bob up and down as the distance between my eyes and the subject changes.  It is not getting old the sucks, it just the symptoms of it.

The personal LED headlamps work well, but I find myself ONLY using it when I am working solo. The giggles I get from everyone when I put it on, I can live with.  The real problem is that everytime you turn to talk to someone, you are pointing it right in their face and blinding them.

Just make sure you aren't talking to a buxom lady with a low cut blouse while the headlights are on!   ;D ;D ;D
