If I were stinking rich and could buy what I wanted I'd buy it because I think it's cool and put it on display for others to look at and enjoy.
There are many other things though that would come first though including a '71 hemi 4 speed 'cuda convert!

Still, I like those things, I like art deco period.

Would this be MAK's unit as the seller is in California?  Doesn't he still have one of these?

I very much doubt this belongs to MAK as I assume MAK would use one of his already existing Ebay IDs.

From what I know, I think Mike's unit need restored. This one is not his but I think he does know the owner.

It is a cool rig but pretty worthless in functionality really. Like was said, if you were loaded and just wanted to waste some money it would be fun. But since it is not original I don't even see it as much of an investment opportunity.

Just my thoughts...

What qualifies as original?  I don't think any of the Futurliners are truly original since parts have to made to replace missing/rusted ones.

I am confused on paint schemes as the Ebay has a completely different paint scheme than the one at Barrett-Jackson or the one at the museum.  The one on Ebay seems to show an old photo that matches the paint scheme it has.

Original would be as it was shown at the 1939 World's Fair. This one has been modernized.

Original would also be painted the same way, as you touched on. Original paint scheme was as below.

This is a nice rig and the 'improvements' are nice.. But when you are asking a million for something like this, it would need to be concourse original I think.

I stand corrected on the color scheme.  What I thought was an old brochure they were showing in the Ebay listing is just a graphic the owner made showing the paint scheme currently on the vehicle.

The value would probably be double without the extra windows and with the correct paint scheme and lettering.  The interior probably doesn't matter so much.

There are several bids, but who knows if they are real or not.  All kinds of folks bid on high value auctions with no intention of buying.

Hi Guy's,

Also, not very good panel work on the exterior as you can see alot of waves in the pic.

The interior stainless work looks neat but, if you look at the curve on the bar, you can see a crease

in the middle of the fluted SS panel which tells me he purchaced pre fabed panels & tried to make them fit.

Not a million dollar piece...

The Guy selling this one should be Bob Valadez.

This guy was on the Discovery Channel about two years ago featuring his GM

I didn't realize until this thread came up that the Futureliners had the big light bars that came out of the top. That would be pretty cool for lighting up the area when boondocking.

Just a few hours to go at 1,001,100.00

I read in futureliner.com that 2 of theese units were set-up to be generator vehicles to power the 10 others.??

It also mentioned the two side windows in the same units..  could be valid?
