Not all the details are in yet, but based on the fact both took place in the early AM, chances are very good it was "driver fatigue".

Anybody with professional transportation industry experience, be it bus or truck, will tell you that 0200 thru 0600 is the deadliest time of the night, even if you're rested.

Sad, but true.

You are DEAD right Russ! And that's ok Paul, we won't miss you. I'd rather not have passangers on board who don't trust my driving or the safe record it reflects!

Anyone can have an accident and not every accident involving a bus or truck is their fault.  Lots of times it is the driver of the car that pulls in front of them that is the cause. I spent 40 hrs straight on a Greyhound and sat in the front seat.  I watched the drivers and felt totally safe with each and every one of them.  I have also ridden with Bryce several times and would ride with him any day and know without a doubt I am in safe hands.

Too many people see the news where 1 bus or truck or plane has an accident and automatically decides that the driver or company, or pilot and airlines are to blame.  Sure, sometimes they are but I am sure all of you know that lots of people see your big bus coming and almost dare you to hit them when they pull out in front of you and then forget what an accelerator is for.

I almost hit a car with my bus within the last 10 or 20 miles of Bryce's place the time I went to his first rally.  The driver decided to pull out in front of me without adequate space.  I suppose they didn't want to be stuck behind a big ol bus.  I never pull in front of buses or large trucks with my car unless there is plenty of room.  Yes, I could maybe save 15 seconds, but I could also be spending days or weeks in a hospital or eternity in a casket.

Very well said Brian! I wish all drivers felt that way, but unfortunately "we" (buses) are a huge nuisance, & inconvenience to the majority of the motoring public. (at least judging from the way they drive around us!)

The trip to eat and the ferry ride at bk's non rally was the focal point at the rally. Never felt safer, even at speed on the back roads and lost.

Only way would of been if he had a GM in stead of the SETRA.  Just kidding bk.

A good driver is a good driver. Some time corperate decisions over ride common sense.
