Freezing In East Texas

Folk's the weather service has told us folk's in East Texas that it's going down in the 20's tonight Burr.
I need some advise on keeping the potable water system in the Buffalo safe from damage.
I have drained the potable water tanks & water heater and have drained the water lines and removed the 12 volt water pump also added the R/V Pink Anti/Freeze to the drain traps.
Any thing else that I might need to do?
I know you folk's up in the deep freeze country are thinking 20's degrees why that's almost spring in MN.
But to us folk's down here in East Texas it cold.

I just put a freeze switch in the basement and hooked up to a heater so when the temps get below freezing it puts enough heat in to keep things flowing Jerry

Sounds like you've got it well drained.  A trick I found out about was to use an old piece of garden hose and put an air chuck on the end with a hose clamp and use it to blow water out of the lines.  Worked great!

You can also buy one for $1.99 at RV stores that screws on the hose bibb with a schraeder valve built-in.

In the fall when those first few evenings of freezing weather come and i have not yet drained everything, I lay a trouble light in my compartment where the pump and valves are located. The heat from the bulb and the residual heat stored in all that water will help to keep things from freezing also.

Good luck with it, and i sure hope it warms up down there. My daughter has me talked into coming down that way in Feb. She wants to go where it is warm enough to go swimming in a natural body of water. She also wants to track down some good live music in Louisiana... should be fun.

We had some friends down from Minnesota, and they thought 50 deg water was just fine for a dip.  Not ME!

We were in parka's  LOL        Depends on what you are used too!

Our commode / toilet had a drain valve that I missed the first year.  fittings split.   

Also, do you have a washer/dryer?  If so, our manufacturer of that unit recommended putting the RV antifreeze & running the spin cycle.

Sounds like you are well on your way to a safe winter.
