Did the MCI 9 originally come with one or two horns?

tekebird, are you saying that somewhere on my 9 there is already an air horn? If so, where was the standard place they put the little guy. I have not been able to find the horn, airline,....

Or are you saying that the user could select between electric and air but only one horn?

I have found my electric horn!

Grant,

On my 8, there are two horn buttons for the electric horns - the ones on the steering wheel and the one on the floor down from the headlight dimmer.  It's odd, as my manual doesn't mention this being a switch for electric horns but instead being a valve for air horns (which mine didn't have).  One could choose which horn to blow depending on which button was pressed.  On my bus, either set of buttons blows the electric horns.  Does your 9 have horn switches in both locations?  If 9's are like 8's, the air horns were mounted below the driver's seat in the streetside compartment.  I'm thinking of just having a toggle switch to turn on or off the air horns and let them be controlled with both sets of horn buttons.  In other words, I'll have either electric horns or electric and air horns.  I know that, with a manual transmission, I may not have a free foot to feel around for the air horn button on the floor when I need it most.

Did you order the military air horns?  I haven't installed mine yet.  I went out of town over Thanksgiving and have been playing with the 'new' inverter (and working) and haven't had time to mess with the horns any.  They're on my weekend to-do list... along with about a million other things!

Air horns were optional.

2 electric horns were standard.

Thanks guys. I do have the switch on the floor and I think I may search around to see if I have the option of the airhorn with line alread installed.

I am going to order the airhorns this a.m. just wanted to replace both electric horns (whimpy) with airhorns if I could.  I will find the second horn and we will be off to the races.

Thanks for the input.
