Maybe I miss it but would like to see us begin to placing photos of projects by category! Say engine, electrical, mechanical, paint, flooring...... This way we could quickly scan pictures of previous folks attempts, steps and perhaps layouts, diagrams and so forth. This could become quite a library of information.

What do you think?

I think that's a great idea! Also maybe include by bus type and model as there are specific problems - concerns with each one.

Make it happen Dallas - Nick - Richard - Phil!

I second the motion!  ;)

Paul, your idea is an excellent one!! I am constantly amazed at the talent of this group. We need to start capturing this information and memoralizing what has been done. I think we start with providing a section for each of the say 20 most popular conversion shells. This should just about cover most members. I hope the big boys are watching!!!!

Thanks for the vote!!!

Grant,

Great idea.....

Nothing like a picture!

Just reminded me of something:
Moderators, just an open suggestion....Could someone delete all the chatter in the Photo section.....I was looking at the coaches the other day and there is a  lot of chatter, even though maybe relevent at the original posting, a lot to wade through.  Thanks   :-*
Maybe NO picture, NO posty......

Review some of the things on the HELP board. I started something like that by categorizing several different subjects. It is really time consuming as there seems to be no easy or quick way to alpabetize and then sort things. In the middle of something I lost a lot of what I had done and kinda gave up the idea. It seems nobody was using it anyhow. At least it got very few hits.

I have several hundred Favorites that I am trying to get posted but do not hive it ready yet. Skip has been helping me on this.

This is one I got started on:

Richard,

The Favorites you did are great, that's a lot of work. You are commended sir!

I don't know how this would work or if it will but here goes.

How about starting with Bus Brand Catagory such as, Eagle, Prevost, MCI, GMC, FLX and so on...

Then uder that sub catagories, Enginge, Transmission, Electrical etc.. Then as new topics come up add another catagory. I don't know how much work this would be for you moderators in addition to all the other stuff. I think it would be easier to get around on specific topics that someone is interested in.

I also agree that the Pictures Topic needs to be cleaned up. It would help make it look better. Good idea CLIFF

Just adding to Grant's idea!

I have also noted this and have been meaning to ask Nick if I could clean it up. I really do not think all the chatter adds anything, but that is not my decision to make. Maybe a survey to see if the other members would like to see this happen or to leave it alone.

Is a survey something a humble regular guy can do?

Grant

Yup, but you need to start a new thread.

Next to "New Topic", you'll see, "Post New Poll"

Good idea. I can contribute if this site is storing the pics. I have had bad luck with my photo storage lately. :'(

Yep, apparently you have! And I have clicked that link in your profile many times hoping it would work because that appears to be one clean looking Eagle in that avatar.

You know Dallas offers free bus photo hosting at http://busphotos.busconversionstuff.com/photo?
I have a gallery there myself even though I have my own storage. Having them all in one place makes them easier for people to find that happening upon my sites.

It's a great idea, and I agree that maybe you should limit posting comments to the poster only. It could become a library with preset categories like Air Conditioning, Brakes, Engine, Trans, Flooring, Roof Raise, Generator, Electrical, Tire's, Painting, Rust, Plumbing, Jakes, The list could be quit extensive.

I have done that myself with my Dell Image Expert file. I have thousands of pictures, with comments attached, and I use it a lot, as I can make comments about something I like, or don't like. Being able to put pictures of all the buses into one file and compare sold me on what bus I wanted but also the paint scheme I wanted on the exterior. So I say thumbs up, go for it, because you will only improve the website with it.

Included is a picture of what I think is my favorite bus picture, but when I buy a bus it will most likely be an MCI, because getting parts will be easier, and cheaper for the MCI, than it will for the Vanhool.
