Does anyone ever sit and think of their bus and then wonder to themselves, " what the hell am I doing"?

Many times as I was converting it.  But like all big projects, do one job completely and to your satisfaction, then move on to the next job-one at a time. Pretty soon you'll see progress, and then the bus will be at a point you can use it.  Eventually, it will be more or less completed, with just minor jobs to do on it periodically.  I am at that point now, and when I sit back and look at the completed bus, I think to myself that I can't believe I did this huge job and am satisfied with it.

I am leaving thurs for Lake Havasu, Az until Monday.  Staying at Crazy Horse RV park right on the lake over the London Bridge.  Good Luck, TomC

Dax, Many times! The question is "How Do You Eat An Elephant?" the answer is "One Bite At A Time!"  I spent a life time trouble shooting problems mechanical and electrical.  Patience is a virtue!  This board and several others and the information passed on by many great folks make all things possible! When you get discouraged backup pull up a chair get one of your favorite brews or drinks and do what i do, i ask my wife how to fix it! ;D   All kidding aside we usually laugh when i ask her, we laugh and I feel better, she thinks i'm totally crazy!.....LOL!

Just wait till you break down on the highway...then you'll really ask yourself that question!

But you would be surprised how much good will a bus can generate.

Pretty soon, people will buy you Christmas presents "for the bus".

Yeah, I had a bus once, sold it and now I regret having to do that.  Can't wait to jump in again.  Of course, I will probably have my "OH SHOOT" moments.  (I don't cuss, but I will write it down and sign my name to it)

I am in somewhat the same situation. I lost my bus in a fire and was financially unable to replace it. I do have some hope that maybe in the near future that will change.

The oil and gas industry is booming here in WV and they have discovered that by going a couple of thousand feet deeper they have discovered a new gas bearing sand. They have already drilled two wells on property I own the mineral rights to and are preparing to drill a third. They hit a good supply of gas on the first two and hopefully will maybe hit a gusher on the third. If so, then maybe I can be like Grandpa Clampet  (sp)  and get me a Model T and head for Hollywood. LOL

I'll be watching the news to see about gas prices dropping because of the new source of oil. We certainly hear it every time there is something happens so they can raise prices! haha.. Good luck to you, Richard. I wouldn't  mind owning some mineral rights out here!

Brian, I hope to use your site as a way to convince my wife that 'steel tenting' is a good thing. She keeps saying she don't want us to use the bus until it is done.

Send them guys over here to Middle Tennessee, My water well is actually an undiscovered gas well with a side order of stinky water... Sure would be nice to have an income machine sitting in my pasture.... I may have to do a flame test to see what kind of gas however...

If you hear a giant boom.. No worries, Just me checking my well.....

I wonder what I'm doing less often than my wife does lol.  I wondered why I was doing this when the engine hatch came down on the top of my head (my wife thinks that explains a lot of things), I wonder when I look at the cost of fueling up, I wonder when I look at the projects still ahead of me on the bus, but the beauty of all this is that when I fire it up and take a cruise, all that goes away and I know why we all do this.
