Busnut Social Gathering and Smallest Busnut

We had a great time this past weekend at a Busnut Social Gathering. They decided to call it that instead of a rally because absolutely nothing was planned except the location. Although only 5 buses were there (one other local busnut and his wife joined us for supper on Saturday evening), an imptomptu potluck supper, a spontaeous tour of a local winery and just plain visitin' made it a great weekend.
Our basement AC decided to quit working on Friday afternoon (blower blows, but compressor does not compress). As usual with busnuts, we had offers of "we have plenty of room, sleep in our bus", "stay in our bus with us", and "we have a fan you can use". We took the last option, since we were on the go most of the day and it cooled off enough at night that sleeping was not bad.
Below is a photo of Paula with what has to be the smallest busnut. One of those attending travels with a Marmoset monkey.  Trixie is 1 year old and is about 9-10" with a 14" tail and weighs a whopping 1 pound. Paula was the first person she has went to except her owners.
Thanks to Manny & Darlene for the use of the fan and to all for a wonderful pot luck supper. Have to ask Joe & Susan about the fireplace we watched in their bus?
Although we enjoy doing our Bussin' rallies, I am very happy to see more of these regional/state events such as Kyle's SC get together, BK, Dallas & Cats Bash,  Paul Lawry's Texas event, and Christy Hicks get together.  These smaller rallies spread across the is great country, give more of us busnuts a chance to meet, shake Howdy, swap lies, and steal borrow ideas.  Jack
PS: ACE & Susan, everyone missed ya'll.

Jack,

Thanks for sending me the Bus Rally Information. It will be a big help when we have ours. We didn't use the name Rally in our heading either because this is supposed to be a small non formal get together. Besides we wanted to be differant.

Glad you had a good time, hope you get your A/C fixed soon.

That is one cute mini bus nut! You too Paula!  ;)

Jack, that is absolutely an irresistible picture!  I've set it as my screen saver for a number of reasons...among them our appreciation for Paula's smile. :D

We who've been there know that these small impromptu gatherings can be more fun, on a personal basis,
than some of the Rally's where there just isn't the time or opportunity to meet and spend time with others in our hobby.

But it is the big ones that bring all those beautiful creations (Big Red comes to mind..among others) out of the barns and garages so we can all enjoy the efforts of the builders.

I'll enjoy Paula's moment every time I turn on my computer.

Glad to see you had a great time Jack & Paula, sure wish you could Make Kyle's Autum Bash in October but following Uncle Sam's rules for sign up is more important down the road.  We will see you soon.  Great Picture of the Monkey. Oh , Paula too, hehe,  get that air fixed when you can.  Hey, I know this guy way up in Delaware that can sure fix you up.  Only about 1300 miles from you.  He'll make it worth your while if you can come.

Take care, our best to you and Paula and thanks Manny and Darlene for keeping a couple of our favorite busnuts comfortable.

This question has come up before but Jack is apparently capable of doing it...  How do you make a pic into a Thumbnail which the Board will accept?

Gary does it, but it's probably only on his personal website, I'm confused...help, please?

Bob,
I forgot to re-modify this last night, I have made a lengthy post on the MAK board with instructions how to submit photos on the MAK bb'd post.  NOTE: this is not the only way it can be done, it is one way that has worked for me and simple if you do it twice or more.  Do not let the instructions intimidate you, follow them number by number and you will see how simple I have made it and less confusing, I HOPE.

You will see that other bus nuts also offer directions on how to do this and the choice is yours what is best for you to do but use one system that works and stick to it until you feel more comfortable to explore other avenues of doing this.

After you become familar with making text and inserting photos you will be able to do all this at one time, you just have to remember always, make photos smaller than 128kb, and do not submit the photos on this post until "AFTER" you (Preview) your text of your post, if you Preview with the submitting of the photos first you will lose all of your post, I PROMISE!!!!!

Good Luck, hope to see you at BK's, we leave in about 2 hrs. for our trip also.

If you have a photo shop program of some kind on your computer, re-size the photo to 640x480. I then save this on my desk top. After you write your post, click on additional options and then click on browse to find the photo. Click on the photo and it will be included in your post.  Call me if you need any help. If you you do not have a photo program, there are several free ones available. hopefully some others will chime in.  Jack

Jack....
Again....
It doesn't matter what viewable size the photo is. it can be 640X480, 1026X764, 9000X12,393,560. That is only the number of pixels that are taken up by the screen to show the picture.

The file(s) physical size only has to be UNDER 128Kb. You may have up to four files if combined, they are under 128Kb

Don't confuse resolution, file size or viewable size. They are three different things and only have a little bit to do with each other.

Attached is a Large Photo with Low Resolution

And it is very easy to enlarge if you want to. Just click on the paper clip and it opens in MGI Photdosuite (at least on my computer< and then you can use the scrool wheel on the mouse to enlarge it as much as you desire.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, a good Reisling in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming:  WOO HOO, what a ride
