re: Holding tank monitors and sensors

Well looks like I am stumped again . Does anyone know where I can purchase a monitor and sensors for my fresh/grey/black water tanks? My fresh and grey tanks are aluminum and my black tank is plastic. I have checked the r.v. supply stores here in Victorville, Ca. and they have them but no instructions come with them (pretty idiotic I think) I know better than to try and guess at the wiring and I could ruin the unit. Just returned one I bought, sales person said just go on line and print out instructions but failed to tell me the name of the manufacturer and all it said on the monitor was Micro Monitor. You fellas have helped me out with my other problems, so here I am again. Got the air bag leveling solved and the cpvc plumbing solved, "A BIG THANKS TO ALL". Sooooooo hope you can point me in the right direction here.

There are many types and prices of monitors.  I use one made by Garnet technologies out of texas.  Works well, extremely accurate, great customer support, and advertise in MAK's magazine. Downside is they don't work on metal tanks and are not cheap.  1-877-668-7813  http://www.rvgauge.com/

For metal tanks, one very effective and inexpensive method is to plumb in a clear pipe from the bottom to the top of the tank.  doesn't clog, always works, easy to "read".

Give these units a look. In addition to being VERY cost effective, computerized, and extremely reliable, it is also very simple to connect, as it uses regular plug-in telephone cords for cabling.
If you know the W x H x L of your tanks, they will pre-program/calibrate the monitor for you.
Also, they have developed a new method of inserting the sensors into various places in the plumbing, other than the tank.
You should be able to easily use this monitor, even on a fully completed conversion, with very little installation issues.
