Brian and Hillary called tonight to tell me they were out for another test run with the new ISM engine. He asked if we were going to be home later and they might swing by on the way home. We were just about to head out to dinner, but they were just a couple miles away at the time, so they swung by then. They took my wife and I for a short hop around the countryside. Other than an intercooler hose popping off halfway through, which was an easy fix, it was sweet! He's done a great job on his installation. He has a couple minor issues to address, but pretty much has a handle on everything. It's a very nice installation, and sounds awesome. It's not a jackrabbit any more because that tranny has to shift through 145 gears within a block's distance, but it's super quiet and the shifting, while not completely smooth, is very controlled and definite. The clutch linkage and vaccuum assist mechanism is a work of art, also.

Awesome job Brian. If I didn't already have a new engine, I might actually consider this upgrade for mine, but...

Hay Dallas,

You would be in big trouble if the Minnesota gang got together with the Delaware gang......

We would have to call that get together the Viking Destroyers Rally!  Lol...

Wow, I leave my computer for a couple hours and this goes on!  Thanks Craig.  I do believe a complement from you is worth a million compliments from the average joe.  Once I get the intercooler pipping stable I'll have to play around with skip shifting and full throttle to see if I can cut those 143 shifts down a few notches before the end of the intersection!

So, when is the Delaware gang meeting us half way in between?  Oh yeah, BK's TN bus gathering!  I only wish I could make it as I'd love to put some faces with all these great characters!  :-)

Even if you can't make the rally, you can pop over to BK's for a visit anytime.  There's always at least one nut around since Dallas moved in.  He is a true character!!!

In the South, when the parade of homes goes on and the front one has a flat, the whole thing stops.

Yankees are people from above the Mason Dixon Line that visit the south.

DamnYankees are the ones who don't go home again.

Hey Brian,
Are you ever going to bring the coach out to your in-laws' for their approval? If so, let me know and swing by here. I'm not nearly as critical of shifting issues as Craig is. Remember, I've got a 4 speed crash box. I'd love to go for a ride. You'd have to wipe the drool off the leather seats tho'.

Maybe we need a Minnesota Convoy to head east and set a couple of things straight. (although it would take me awhile to catch you from a stop sign).

Hey Fred, Nice to see you online again!

Right now I have all the intercooler pipes torn off.  I just got them back from a welder who put a pretty good bead all the way around each end of each pipe.  I'm hoping this will allow me to explore the full power of the engine!  I'm sure we will be out your way sometime in the not too distant future.  I have to get the pipes back on and put a new thermostat on before the next trip.

We are also pretty close to you and you are always welcome to stop by here!

Fredward

Yah you're still on my list of things to do. Its just been a heckuva summer. Wife had surgery and complications followed - what a blur. Anyways I'm getting caught up finally. And then we were out in Grand Tetons and Yellowstone for a couple of weeks and I'm heading up to North Dakota the last week of August. Maybe September will be mellower. But the bus is running great - need to do some welding on it, however.
