GM Baggage Door Gas Struts

Chaz,

They slide in exactly where the rubber hinge is.

You have to modify the slot(make it wider) on the upper hinge to get them in.

He sends spacers to put in between.

Ed sends the instructions with the hinges.

I used the stainless on the top hinge and replaced the rubber on the middle.

Very happy with them.  I just replaced the rest of the middle hinges with the rubber style.

The biggest hassle was getting out the little set screws that keep the rubber from moving.

They tend to break off and then the fun begins.

The middle hinge has a zillion screws that were frooze solid on 4 of 6 doors on mine.

I had to grind the heads off, But I predrilled through the old retention piece into the door (perfect alignment) and then used self tapping to reinstall through my pilot holes.

I will get some pictures up this weekend or sooner if it quits raining.
