Anti Freeze in a 4104 Question

I have a PD 4104 with a inline 671. I recently changed the coolant and checked what it tested to and I was aiming for 20 below zero and it tested for 40 below zero. My question is will this cause the engine to run hot and could that anti freeze hurt the system?   Thanks in advance for your advise.....T. Chellis

When we use to run the 6-71's in our trucks, we always ran the antifreeze at 50/50 which gave us around -34° and raised the boiling point to around +265°.
This was in Idaho and Montana with our logging company. We never had a problem with overheating except with the normal wear and tear on hoses, radiators, etc.

Read the back of your particular antifreeze bottle and it should tell you what your boiling point is going to be.

Also check to make sure your heating system valves are open.... they may still contain a different solution than you have in the radiator.

be sure not to mix types of antifreeze or you will have a really nig headache
