My neighbor slide (freezing rain) into my Silver Eagle sitting in my driveway his insurance (Progressive) couldn't give a estimate (unfamiliar with vintage buses) so I drove it to Jims truck trailer and coachwerks in Winona MN. There estimate $25,518.89. I paid $30,000 for the bus put about $8,000 into it. They totaled it and want to settle for $25000.00 with a buy back of $3750.00 and I have to pay for the estimate which I haven't been told yet. Big life lesson beware bus owners.

Progressive is probably offering the limit on your neighbors policy, he is on the hook for anything above the cost. If you like the bus have it repaired or take the 25 k with no buy back or salvage title. Tell Progressive to repair the bus you do not have take their offer, if you have insurance pay your deductible and let them go after Progressive, that is one insurance co that will screw you if they can, you have options use those

be lucky you got a company to insure your bus. I recommend Progressive as its rates have been fair and they continue to renew without hassle. A lot more than I can say than AAA kicking my @$# to the curb on homeowners insurance.

Yeah I when with the buy back. Going to try to sell the bus for parts as a whole it is still drivable. I just rebuilt the mitre box last fall the drop box and rear end was rebuilt I think 3 years ago trans ht740 was rebuilt just before I bought it the aquahot runs and works great the generator a atomic universal 3 cylinder diesel runs and works perfect central vacuum wash machine I think a 100 gallon lp tank it has a very good running 8v92 475hp with jakes all these things can be tried before they buy not going to take it apart. Somebody could get a hell of a deal. Anyway if you know of someone send them my way.

I forgot the torsilastic suspension still sits high. no air bags. Good tires. I also have the service and parts manuals for the bus as well.

If that Eagle has little rust sell it whole,Eagle buses are not hard to repair post a photo of the damage ,Sonnie Grays 05 Eagle was involved  in a head on we cut the front clip off his and bought another clip from wrecking yard  that bus is still on the road 30 years later. If its drivable  somebody will buy it from you, parting one out is not for the weak you end up spending big bucks, time and money to remove the parts and to get rid of the chassis and body, plus most buyers want parts shipped and that can be a nightmare. Run an ad here on Garys BCM the bus will sell as a whole bus
