Any Allison B500 Pan Gasket Advice?

I'm wanting to change my Allison B500 oil filters soon. I've heard that if previous service tightened the bolts too tight, they could easily be stripped out. My dilemma is that I can get the bus high enough to change the filters and oil, but if I ran into stripped bolts, I wouldn't be able to get the bus to a place where I could comfortably do the repair. My plan is to eventually install a grease pit, but not for a while yet.

All that being said, I was under there looking at it, and I have some drips coming off the bottom of the pan itself, so it looks like the pan gasket needs replaced as well. Any advice on performing that task? Thanks in advance!

There is no "oil pan" on a B500. That's the control valve body. It's quite heavy and you'll need some type of jack to remove and reinstall it. There's quite a bit more to it, you may want to have a shop do it. The filters will be off at the same time. They can also replace the internal filter while it's off.

The trouble is, I don't know who to trust. I've performed all the work on the bus so far. We have a local bus tour company a couple of miles down the road. I might see if they have someone they can recommend. Thanks!

Take it to Allision most of the time that leak is caused by the harness connector or the dip stick tube leaking and running down the side of the transmission
