For $45,000?

2004 E4500. Mileage is only 276,500.  Cat C-12 pre EGR, Allison tranny.  I think I can complete the conversion for an additional $45,000 and make it real nice.

Here is a link to a video from 2020 when it was last for sale:

I don't like that it's an E4500 (more tech to break), and I don't like that it's a CAT C-12, but I do like that it's pre-EGR, has relatively low miles, and some of the conversion is already done (floor leveled in the front, a lot of the house electrical has been wired up, windows removed in the middle of the coach, holding tanks installed, and a good start for the back bathroom, etc).

Would love to hear your thoughts!!

Nice looking E, Merle Haggard ran a E with about the same setup for a million miles. A good friend of mine Dale Houston owns it now and still using it for tours he doesn't have trouble but he did lose a fan and radiator a few years ago. 2004 Cat had the problems worked out with the EUI 30,000 psi fuel system, they burn clean now that is how Cat got around the EGR. The engine will not like dirty fuel so keep spare fuel filters on hand, they are not hard change or to prime, you do not want to clog a injector those injectors are very pricy for the C12,C13 and C15 .There should be a video on U  tube from Cat showing how the system works. FWIW with less than 300,000 miles you are good for another million if you service it per Cat

This is great info, thanks Cliff!  We'll see if the seller wants to complete the deal, I'm not going above $45k.  If it works out I'll need to enlist Gary/BCM's help in selling my Moose, which will be a sad day.  Love my coach, it's served us well for many, many years.   But it's showing its age, it's underpowered and it's in the crosshairs of the treehuggers; and I like the idea of designing a layout that works better for me (like a half-bath and all electric).
