Which is the best DC-DC charger to use with solar, and the engine alternator combined, I am not liking this deal with the lithium batteries with charging and blankets for warming, you can buy the batteries with heaters but they 12 v which is ok if you are driving the RV.I have the charger for lithium after about 2 hours of trying I found out in the 24 degree weather in Texas last night the thing cuts it's self-off when the temperature reaches 36 degrees and it's pre set you cannot change it lol I am getting to old for this stuff anybody have answers ?.buying a new Inverter that will charge lithium batteries is not happening

The lithium batteries cannot be charged when they are below freezing temperatures. It's a chemical problem and they will be destroyed if you try. If yours has a low-temperature cutout circuit, respect it and consider yourself lucky. If you warm them up first, by blankets or any other means, you can charge them; you can still use and discharge them when they are cold.

Some of the Renogy charge controllers have both solar and alternator inputs. They select between them and even mix the inputs to charge the house batteries. When the house batteries are full, it will divert solar power to the chassis battery to top it up.

Check Renogy model numbers RBC30D1S and RBC50D1S for 30 and 50 amp outputs.

I have been leaving my solar panels turned on and gently using the battery system all through the winter for three years now. We get down to the teens regularly through the winter months. Am I in danger of ruining my system? I suppose I can heat the bay during the day when the sun is producing power or just turn the solar panels off and shut off everything in the bus, since all it's doing is sitting in the driveway. I tend to utilize some of the lights while working on it, which is almost every day. I don't know if my LifeBlue batteries are internally heated (?)

My friend Brad has those batteries; they don't have a heater but do shut off from charging in cold weather his are about 3 years old too no problem yet.I wouldn't do it but in cold weather he puts a heavy load on his 800 amp house batteries to override the shut down and I don't how that works.I ordered the Renogy  DC to DC charger to make life a little more simple for me
