How high does the oil reach inside the oil pan of a 6V92?   If the dipstick shows Full, does it reach to top of the oil pan itself (at its gasket), or higher (into the block), or lower?

Thanks, John

They are lower than the bolt line on pan, the adapter with  a seal in it for the stick is about even with pan bolts that is why it has a seal to keep the vapors inside the pan , your stick can change depending on the pan most bus pans are flat with no sump nether style fill to the bolt line or above it.The 6v92 TA takes 25 qts with the filter. non turbo models take 22 qts anything above that, they over filled,I sort of make 2 checks for the correct level in my service manual there is also a low level amount and I use it also, like 17 qts is low level for the 6v92 TA that should read on the dip stick low that is just a thing I do when filling one

Thanks!   That's exactly what I needed to know.
