Tucked into the lush, rolling hills of Val Trebbia, just outside Bobbio in northern Italy, sits an unexpected gem: a vintage red London double-decker bus, now a fully converted vacation nest.

What began in 2018 as a quirky impulse by Italian artisan Roberto "Bob" Marino, together with his wife Silvia and their daughters, has evolved into a unique, eco-conscious escape. Through ingenious dismantling, meticulous insulation, a hand-painted exterior, and charming interiors complete with a kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, and riverside patio, the former Route 148 bus has been reborn.

This is the story of how imagination, grit, and family dedication transformed a retired city bus into an unforgettable retreat.
