Well after months of thinking about it, we've signed up to be Harvest Hosts / Boondocking.  It's our little way of giving something back to the RV community.  So far it's been kind of fun.  As I work fulltime and haven't been able to travel much lately, it's been kind of fun.  Especially meeting the different travelers.  We have full hookups for an extra fee but it's a lot less $ than the usual campground.  I'm sure there'll be some wonkiness too, but we're kind of used to that on other areas of life   :o

Would be interested if anyone else has stories on this.  We're in the Northern AZ area.

My wife and I have used Harvest Hosts a few times now and have enjoyed doing so. Maybe if we're in your area we'll get a chance to stay at your place!

The only drawback I can see is it seems that not very many will take 45 foot coaches, but other than that, we love it.

We are located in the Prescott Valley area of northern AZ.  Bus folk are ALWAYS welcome.   ;D
The sites are laid out with buses in mind - plenty of room. We've just started but both couples who have camped here were very encouraging and supportive.  I know we may have a lot to learn still, but we're enjoying the program and the plans that Harvest has in place to support the hosts and guests.  In addition it's interesting to hear a bit about people's travels.

Take care all!

Just a quick update on our HH / Boondockers status.  As many may know they are BCM advertisers so I had figured that anyone with the good sense to advertise w/ BCM has to have something going for them, so that got us over the edge to get started.  :)

We've now hosted several RV'rs, and while I"ve made a few errors, especially with the booking calendar, it's still been a very positive experience.  For that calendar, it does take some getting used to.  It seems that whenever I forget to block out the calendar for our away time somebody does sign up for those dates.  It is easy to block - but only if you have a clue what you will be doing in the future.  Maybe I should block by default.  Also, I thought "how many parking spaces" referred to something which might include extra tow vehicle and friend driving along with you in their car(s).  Not so much.  We have a bit of property so let's just say I had a lot of reservations behind made simultaneously when we started out.   :o

Getting to meet a lot of people and hope we get to see them again soon.  We should be on the road a busing soon though.  So will give it rest when we're traveling.

Take care all, Phil
