Where's the drain?  Jack

You nailed it Jack no drain or paint with time the rust took a toll, amazing the thickest metal on a well design 10,000 lb  hitch except with no drain is a 1/4 inch with 8- 1/2 inch bolts for attachment

Looking at the Prevost factory hitch the DYI hitch builders sure over build a hitch,I can understand the design I was always told adding thicker iron was not the answer

That looks absolutely nothing like the hitch on my 1980 Prevost. Wondering if it is some third party adaptation.

Since you have a Prevost factory diagrams are available via the online parts manual.

Freds yours is probably not a factory hitch being a 1980 model, both the H and XL here have the same hitch with matching  decals on the hitch and engine rail for 10,000 lbs and I checked the parts manual on the H-41 I have and it is  a Prevost hitch.Prevost make 3 different hitches and each one has a different engine cradle  that can cost up to $15,000.00 for the 20,000 lb hitch, that makes for a expensive hitch
