They only have themselves to blame. California has been a mess on so many levels for decades. Then they have the nerve to complain that tourism is suffering which is a major source of revenue.

That sounds about right, my two cycle will be laid to rest in unison with it's owner. We'll just fall asleep together and in my eternal dream it comes with me or better put I'll go with it! :^

There  are not that many 2 cycles DD left around any more ,even the after market parts are going away or they have doubled the price for parts

Disposable Money. You an buy an older 2 stroke powered Bus a heck of a lot cheaper than 4 strokes.

The 2 cycles had a good and long life ,there will never be another engine made were parts were so interchangeable from model to model it was indeed a unique system, there is no big demand for parts now so MTU dropped the 2 cycles support and sold it to BMW lol you want to see prices out of the world buy from BMW

Not saying this is the case for all of you. However, people get sentimental over just about everything. Nothing wrong with having our favorite things but some people take it very hard when things disappear for whatever reasons. Bottom line, try not to get sentimental over DETROIT DIESEL 2 cycle engines. Not saying they were bad quite the contrary. But they are pretty much gone. Plus, the engine is just another component in this case, it provides power for a bus. Jet engines have changed over the decades and yet the planes still fly.

Another reason to letting go is trying to find a Mechanic with tools and knowledge to work on um. Had to take mine 125 miles South (San Antonio/Stewart Stevenson). Both Old Mechanics (Brothers) Retired and no one there now. Know there around but I looked around here for years and Crickets. Break down on the side of the road and you could be toast unless you know how to fix the problems. With Series 60's  and other 4 strokes, there are still folks around with the smarts to fix. Wish we could Clone Cliff.

The longer we own our two stroke which is going on 45 years now the more knowledge we hold about it and also knowing people with the same knowledge and parts so there really isn't a struggle - just a pleasure to run an antique 50s unit that is upkept and very dependable. I may think differently if we ever needed a major unit rebuild but it runs like a well oiled machine and stays parked in air conditioned space. Three cross continent trips between FL & AK and can do many more IOHO. It just doesn't make sense to do anything different!

People don't use a RV that much they put very few miles on one a year, I did about 20,000 miles a year with my Eagle with a 8v92 with only 1 major problem I broke a cam outside El Paso Tx,The modern bus will give you less trouble than the older buses
