In reading some the posts on Seb's DDEC issues, SEL and CEL, etc., and coupling that with some of the info that was shared on my recent "Turbo Lag" post, I have come to the conclusion that I need to up my game and purchase some of these diagnostic tools. Which one does what, and is it possible to "flip the switch" (as luvrbus puts it) for more horse power with one of them? Or, am I only getting myself in more trouble (?). Should I get both of them? Much to learn and not enough time! This is all referring to my '02 D4500 MCI. Thanks everyone!

Silver Link? Do you mean SilverLeaf? Look at their web site. It describes what it does.

Remember Silver Leaf doesn't clear codes. Only reads info from the computer. I don't think they offer it for DDEC anymore.

If one is running an electronic engine in your bus conversion,  it is a dangerous game for your wallet, to not have a compatible scan tool.

You don't need to know everything about it, but you can be coached by others, WHEN your engine craps on you.

No scan tool, you become prey, and you have absolutely no idea what has happened.

Just buy one.

Happy coaching!

They are still around for the DDEC ,a friend bought one from RV Upgrades for $342.00,Martin doesn't make the little monitor any longer they are all based on MS tablet now, you ? Martin about that but it is his product, I guess he wanted 1 operating system to deal with is all I  can figure

Bought a 1997 MCI 102D3 with Allison B500 on November 17, 2021 in Syracuse, NY.  Commenced living it that day and  drove it to Florida and New Mexico.  Converting as we go.  https://basicsuds.com

After years of selling a great product line, I think Silverleaf only sells the VMSPC model now, which you must connect to a tablet of some kind.  I have owned two VMS 400's, one for DDEC II and one for Cummins.  But Martin told me they discontinued that model because their vendor for the flat screen was producing non acceptable panels.  I also owned a VMSPC unit for a DDEC II hooked up to a small tablet.  I also heard that Martin sold the company.  Anyway, Silverleaf products have always been top notch.  No codes to worry about, they tell you the fault in plain English.  Pro Link scan tool or DDEC software, plus the VMSPC will have you covered in all cases.  As stated you can not do configuration changes to the ECM with a Silverleaf.

Could someone post a picture of the Pro Link and one of the card? I'd like to see what they look like, it'd make shopping easier.

I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

Had 3 Pro Link scanners and sold them all. Never used them on my 1991 XL as I never had a problem with Motor ( 500 HP 8V92TA) other than a rebuilt Blower. Do have 2 Allison Cartridges left if anybody need those. Drop me a email or message.

Just curious - what do these sell for these days? Seems almost as reqired as a air guage when maintaing a Series 60 motor.

The 9000 Plus is a better scanner the 9000 easier to use, watch buying a scanner from the E place you will end up with a piece of junk.Do your homework to because you can end up with a lot of cables that are not useable for your application

thanks. that is a lot less expensive than what I thought. maybe new they were quite expensive but at this state of life, they may even be sitting on shelves collecting dust.

Complete Pro/Link Plus in the case with printer.cables, manuals and software are still expensive, with the older Pro/Links you don't need to subscribe to the greedy the manufactures data base each year for $500.00 + even Bendix charges now
