Hey all... I thought I'd share the results from finally using my 12K Pioneer mini split in my 45 foot MCI. With all the insulation I installed (complete foam filled roof cavities, plus 1/2" R-5 iso foam board over all that including over the steel frame), I left it running all day set to 70 degrees in 98 degree weather yesterday for the first time. No window coverings and the windshield facing west, I could feel the heat radiating off the windows, but the ambient room temperature was 70 degrees even at the rear bedroom near the ceiling! Once I install solar panels on the roof and some window coverings, close off the window that has an extension cord going through it and install a gasket along the bottom of the entry door, I should be in pretty good shape. Granted, I wasn't going in and out of the bus all day or driving down the road, but it looks like the mini split is pretty sufficient. I still plan to install a 9K unit at the rear eventually. Just thought I'd share the results. Thanks.

Excellent!   I also have a Pioneer 12K (with a heat pump), but I haven't yet got the lines evacuated.   Did you do that yourself, or did you have an A/C person do it for you?

Do you know by any chance what the starting current draw is?   I have a Magnum 2000W inverter, so I hope it will start it OK.

I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

Congratulations, that is a very good result.

With our Pioneer 12K mini split all is good until it we get into the mid 90's then the Mini Split can't keep up, We are also Spray Foam insulated but did not add the extra foam board.

Adding solar panels did help quite a bit, you can definitely tell the difference when touching the ceiling where the panels are.

Hi John, I don't know what the current draw is, but I'm sure I can find out. I have it running on a 50 foot 10 gauge extension cord, since I don't have my electrical stuff done yet. To answer your question on the line evacuation, I had our nephew do that. He works for a heating company. It is super quiet too.
