I just registered my Kenworth 3 axle truck conversion here in Idaho. They asked the value-I stated $40k. They asked weight-I said 41,000lbs which extends up to 50,000lbs. And with the registration prorated minus the first 6 weeks of the year, my registration good till the end of 2022 is $160.00! So for a full year that will be $180. Heck of a lot cheaper than California was. Good Luck, TomC

Just did my 77 MCI 5C in Az.  Total cost for title, plate and tabs for 5 years was just a couple of cents less than $71.   ;D
Used to own a 1968 MCI 5A and a 1977 5C.

We paid California 550.00 for taxes and registration was 225.00 sent the title being we are in another state where we bought the new to us car. After they cashed our checks they told us that we had to get a smog. We told them we could not do that being we were in a state that didn't require it. So this all started in October. Now we are still waiting for the refund they say is coming.
In the mean time we got an address in Ks and the taxes here for purchase were about the same but registration was only 49.00 for the year.

Registration here in Wisconsin is also very reasonable - after paying sales tax the first time it's registered, I just pay about $130/year for the plates. No inspection or other fees.

Time to renew mine here in NM and it is $124 for the year.   But do not send it in early or they register it a month early.  I only let that happen once.

If you are retired military, you probably know that most states give a discount or "free" registration/plate for one vehicle. In Georgia I have a retired plate on my F-150. What I did NOT know, and you probably have to ask, is they also give me a free plate for a "different class" of vehicle. Who knew! Afraid to tell them I have a fancy schmancy looking Prevost bus, I told them I have an old Foretravel RV (Foretravel is the converter and I have paperwork to show that, but they never asked). They laughed when I told them my "RV" was 1980 and asked me if I have to tow it to campgrounds.
Only spank was they bill be once a year $100 dollars "road damage" fee because my "RV" weighs 16 tons.
I walked out of there like the cat that ate the canary....
I just look at it that my F-150 and "RV" cost us $100 a year. Sometimes all those push ups and world travel to places you don't want to go pays off in unexpected ways.

Insurance liability only is 207.13 a year.

I don't know how they would value the bus and that includes the roadside (like when I drove off the road and had to be pulled out) and uninsured coverage.
