Just had to delay my trip a day or so to Ocala to help a friend. I needed a small repair. I have a slotted bracket that is bolted to the block that holds one of my alternators steady as the belt spins it. In prep to hit the road I was airing it up. I opened the bay doors like always looking for any leaks. The sun just happened to be beating on the engine and lit it up really well. Enough I could see the bracket had a big crack in it that went almost all the way across. Ahhhh! Probably been that way a long time but not going to Florida hoping it does not snap on I 75, so I shut her down (profanity omitted). But I met a young man (neighbor) that others told me to call. He is 25, has opened his own shop nearby. He is a licensed welder and showed me things he has fabricated. He came to the bus, looked hard at the bracket and helped me get it off  He made me a new bracket in about an hour. He matched the slight bend and slot and made it thicker and 1/2 inch wider for strength. We will put it on the bus in the morning. He wants ten dollars. I think I will bump that up a bit!I have some bay door brackets that are missing or bent and he is going to make me four of them while I'm away.
Great guy to talk to. Very enthusiastic. Young guys with greasy hands that do not stare at their phones all day! Imagine!  They still exist!
