They state that they are for parts only and will not take a charge. They don't want to build your hopes up.

If you are serious about securing batteries, drop me a PM. There is a large Chinese company that has secured a US warehouse in Houston and distributing from there for nearly same price as FOB China.

Just got this quote two days ago.

Hello Don,

The batteries coming soon are EVE LF280, EVE LF280K, EVE 230Ah. The ETA to Houston warehouse is 24th NOV if without any delay.
EVE LF280: 147USD per piece delivered
EVE LF280K: 147USD per piece delivered
EVE 230Ah: 108.5USD per piece delivered

Please kindly advise

Thanks

Jenny

I thought the availability in 24 volt might have a benefit vs. 12 volt ones. Those prices you shared are close to one I found earlier, but tired of trying to find again last night. You go back to find it and 50 other companies selling batteries come up instead.

With delivery a couple of weeks away, here is the current breakdown on DIY build of 7kW LiFePO4 battery pack.

$147 280Ah LiFePO4 delivered
8 required for 25.6vDC 280Ah battery pack, total capacity 7kW.
8*$147 = $1176 or $168/kW.
Add a couple hundred for connectors and BMS.

Prices have gone up but are still very reasonable relative to off-the-shelf retail.

That actually sounds pretty good. How much does the control/charging package cost?

I saw it on the Internet. It MUST be true...

:) charging all depends on source. PV array costs vary a lot, charging via alternator, charging via AC charging, all over the map

OK fair answer but dodging the question all the same. Using the shore line then. It'll be years before I can go PV and things will have changed by then. Really I'm waiting on a PV wrap to do the whole roof at a reasonable cost. It's coming but it may be awhile. In the meantime someone will eventually come up with a quiet deployable wind turbine which might be a better choice in the Appalachians where there is almost always a breeze, day or night. Or possibly both. But batteries will always be needed.

I was looking at Alixpress. They have some rated at 500ah 12volt in the 5's. Low 6's free shipping. Comes with charger, although probably long time on recharge.Battery 21x12x12 approx. Would a couple of these in 24 volt be better or not for reduced wiring, instead of 4-12 volt?

What the hell does that mean? Dodging what?  Just use your existing bus inverter/charger unit, plug in AC and charge the battery. There is nothing special for charging profiles like other battery types like LA, AGM, etc. Charge full speed then stop when full. Please restate the question as the previous answer seemed like a dodge.  thanks

All lithium batteries are 3.2 to 3.7 nominal volts. You just serial them together to get the pack voltage you desire. For example, my LiNMC is 7s@3.7 = 25.9v. Even though max charge is 4.2, I keep my topped at 3.9v for 27.3v max.

8s on liFePo4 is 25.6v nominal.

You can choose to gamble on Alibaba/express with whoknowwho company. What I was posting here is a Chinese company who has made the next step and setup a domestic warehouse and charging basically same rate since they are bringing in batteries by the container so get far better shipping costs than one off shipping to customers.
