Hi there.  84  MCI MC9

The previous owner removed the luggage racks but left the rail/shelf that holds the interior lights and speakers.

Is there any issue with removing all of that?  Lights, speakers, the whole metal housing/rail?  I was told to always double check when cutting in to or removing something because of the monocoque design.

I recall most people removing these, I guess a personal need or use in their own setup.
In a fed prison coach these shelfs aren't there. But speakers and lights are.
I would look in the fuse circuit panel and disconnect these just for best practice before any removal. Also these have the separate side wires for center marker lights, and also bath in that wire bundle.
I cannot remember wire numbers but most have a left and right initials also in their lettering as a great benefit.
Its quite a wire bundle going to the ceiling, with half going to right side.

Good day

Floyd

ps: if wanted right above the driver Left under the ceiling panel this wire bundle can be modified.
