Slider Windows Stuck

Hello all,

I have 6 sliding windows on my 1964 MCI 5, but I can only get 1 of them to actually slide.  They all have screens and it appears the stopper to prevent them from opening more than just a few inches was removed, so it seems like they all opened at some point in the past.  I can get the latch/handle to click open, but the window won't budge.  Is this a common problem?  Any ideas what would cause the windows to bind?

same on my mci 7 I use a screwdriver to pry them open a little and then I can pull them on back. Get some fine sand paper and try cleaning some of the built up corrosion out of the channels then spray them with silicone spray it's a pain but that is what I did to get mine to slide.

Ours were like that and we blew out the tracks with air and then used dry lubricant and had to work them back and forth until they would move. Once they moved replaced some of the felt runners and then just cleaned out the tracks again. Also found someone before us had missed with a screw that was holding it closed. HTH

Be absolutely sure that the locking mechanism is actually fully clear.

Stuff all moves to fool you, and is still in conflict with the lip

Out of sight sheet metal screw applied by transit company to keep windows closed or sealer applied for water leaks. Inspect closely with bright light inside and outside.

I forgot to add... be careful what you wish for...

You don't want them sliding too easily... they'll move under braking, and with vibration going down the road.

Any missing or in-operative locks and driving alone, nobody to go close the hurricane that just opened up on its own...
