I noticed oil dripping from the bottom of my power steering return line filter. It appears to be coming from the bottom gasket on the magnetic drain plug. I did snug it up just a bit, but am afraid to tighten any more just yet. At least till I get more information.

First, I did contact Luke about the gasket. It is apparently no longer available. To be clear, we're not talking about the top gasket that goes between the canister and the mount at the top - we're talking about the gasket between the magnetic drain plug at the bottom and the bottom of the canister.

So, does anyone know what that gasket it made of? Fiber? Rubber? Copper? Any sources for a replacement?

My plan is to use this as an opportunity to service the filter and install a new top gasket as well, but I was hoping to have a replacement on hand for the drain plug gasket when I do so. According to the book it's 1/2" ID x 11/16" OD. I've found one in copper so far, but nothing made from fiber which is what it looks like to me from the little bit showing.

Any thoughts?
