We had the front hubs serviced this spring, so I wanted to make sure that things are good, since today was the first long travel day since the work was done. Checked the temps and both were at about 85F.

When we finished the drive for today I checked the rear as well, and the DS was also 85, but the CS was 103. Not critically high, but certainly higher than the other rear. I remember that they have been slightly off at the rear since I've had the bus, but can't remember how much so. Memory is not as good as I thought it was.

How much of a variance from side to side is normal on the rear of a GM?

We have plans to get the rear hubs serviced this fall. Any reason to push that up or is careful monitoring the proper course of action?

most times I have checked it is only because of the sun hitting one side more then the other and I have seen 20-25 difference between them

Generally the upwind side hub will run cooler than the down wind side hub.  I've easily seen 20 - 30 degrees difference, especially on windy days.  Those temps look good to me.

Are those still in grease or they lubed from axle oil? Do you know side to side weight difference? Personally I wouldnt be concerned at those low temps.

Thanks for the info guys.

The fronts are still grease packed. Rear should be as well. Won't know for certain until they are done.

I'll keep an eye out for changes and keep on bus'n.
