Anyone have experience with a custom hitch platform for hauling a golf cart? Might buy a Yamaha cart today. Weighs around 650lbs.

With you already towing a Ford Expedition, aren't you going to need a two-tier trailer?

Scott you should talk to RJ about his little Cricket for two people. Its really neat and fits in the back of their VW station wagon. Folds up. :)

or this one to put behind the bus and in front of the Ford.

Already have a 2001 gas Yamaha four seater. Just need a solid platform to haul behind truck. They make them, just wasn't sure what anyone here used.

What do you consider a "solid platform"?  No wheels?  65' length limit has me wondering what you are thinking.

The pickup might be the way to go. But I already own an expedition that we love. In answer to Geoff's question, I'm talking hitch platform behind the truck. But it would have to have multiple attach points to handle the weight of the cart

I actually made one of these. But the 700lb cart was just too much for that one square tube. If I added two more tubes it would have worked. I have autoleveling suspension on the truck with a 900lb tongue weight rated class IV hitch.

You need two receivers; one at each side. A single one wont cut it for long or one large pothole. Yeah, one would work for a golf cart you don't care for much.

The legal length of any vehicle in most States is 65'.  That is from front bumper to rear bumper on trailer.  Not tires.  With my 40' bus, 20' trailer, and the 4-5 feet for the trailer hitch puts me right at the limit.  A Ford Expedition must be close to 20' by itself. Might have to recalculate.

Already measured when I had the golf cart on my home built rack. It was almost at 65 feet but wasn't quite there. So I'm good.
