6v92 cruise control

Does anyone have an image if the cruise control mechanism on a Detroit  6V92? I was looking over my engine and found something that has been cut. I think it might be my cruise control linkage but I'm not sure.

Not DDEC in '86?  Lucky!  Anyway if you had cruise the controller would be in the driver's area and that would tell you alot.

So I forgot to check the notify me box. But here are the images. I only assume this is the cruise as this is where the throttle connects.

The last one is of another item bolted on there. I'm thinking maybe the high idle. Not sure yet because I'm starting to work on some engine items so everything is new and I don't have a manual nor have I've been able to be at the back while some flips switches like high idle or cruise( which won't work anyway because I cant set the cruise for lack of the set switch.

What type of controller? I have switches but not electronic module or anything that I have seen but I haven't been looking either

The pictures you took are the stop engine solenoid.  If you had a King cruise control, there would be a contraption hooked up to the other lever on the governor.  A Rostra cruise control just has a small switch at the dash that connects to the control box; which in turn has a cable that connects to the throttle pedal.

Which one is the stop engineer solenoid? The last one or the others?

The third picture is the stop engine plunger, the rest of the pictures are the fast idle and the travel stop for the fast idle.  You don't have an air throttle, or that would be in there instead of all the springs.

I can't imagine my 6v92 on cruise and it actually working right.  I lose so much speed on the hills, I just don't see how it would work.

I use my cruise control a lot.  If I come up to a grade I tap the brake pedal to turn it off,  then I hit resume on lessor grades.  Otherwise I get a cramp in my leg, and it HURTS!

To Jaynor,  it does not seem you have a working cruise control.  I like the Rostra system, but have to replace it several times in 20 years.  Luckily they are relatively cheap as compared to the King unit.

Yeah I was looking at the wrong parts. The cruise control is an actuator with a throttle cable connected to it. I have the cruise control switches and their connections are correct. Im just waiting until I get a new switch to see if it functions properly. Seems that they just broke their cruise control switch and never fixed it

Just what I can see looks like the old Bendix or Dana cruise control that MCI used in the 80's,the control box module is up front under the dash

Geoff get go to a health food store and pickup some magnesium tablets it will help greatly with cramps especially calf and Leg, thigh, back etc. I know I get them too. Also Look for Magnesium Fizz. You mix a scoop with water and drink it fast and it will stop cramps immediately .

For leg cramps, I use Dolomite tablets as needed. Cheap and available on Amazon and Ebay.
