Hello Everyone, I think I may have found a place or 2 that could be considered a boneyard for buses not too far from me in Orlando. They seem to have a variety of buses from Vanhool, Gillig, and MCI. My question is, are the 102 Series (A B C D) Roughly the same as far as common components? I need a new rear bumper (or part of it), new mirrors (Post mount nut is rusting away and my luck it would fall off going down the road), and would like to replace the drivers side window glass and door glass as the outers (2 pane setup) are both gone/previously shattered. I know I could just get new glass but buying it off another could be cheaper and more DIY. I'm also possibly looking at changing out the wiper motors and going electric versus air and I found a set online for a good price but the came from a D series. I don't want to buy without knowing they will fit

Also, if anyone needs parts for a Vanhool, Gillig or MCI, I may have found a good source of parts. I may be taking a trip this weekend to check it out

Thank you,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan, MCIs build concept was to build on the past models good and update the bad or come up with better. From the 5s and before, to the "Ds" are reverse compatible, a good mechanical idea is a good idea. of course not everything is the same, but many components are interchangeable. Every thing Clifford and Gary taught me about my 5A seemed  to apply to my 102C3, lvmci...

Thank you lvmci,

I am thinking about going to look at a parts bus that is a series D this weekend for parts to my 102A3.

Depends on what you looking for it was a huge change between the the C and the D especially the under carriage ,the C will be closer to 102

The main parts I'm looking for are above the frame. Mirror, windows and bumper, at the current moment anyway

Those parts may work unless the D has the transit bumpers
