Hello All

This is my first time posting.  I just bought a MCI 102c3 Bus.  It has an air leak in the valve just in front of the gear shifter.  I looked through my manuals and can't seem to find the part or any info on what it does.  Here is a pic of the part.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what this is and how to fix or replace it?  Thanks

It opens and closes a fresh air intake vent

Pneumatic control in the main coach HVAC to open or close the fresh air source.

Same as an auto, fresh or recirculated.

look under the floor near the driver behind the flip down front bumper ( spare tire location )  . you will see a 2-3 " hose with the valve in it

Is the sticker still there, that tells you in or out for fresh?

On the same forward facing surface that the switch mounts in.

Freightliner was using the same switch in the highway tractors, IDK about the activating pnuematic bits...

Is there a way to bypass it?  One of the white air lines had a crack in it.  I pulled it out of the switch and cut the broken end off clean.  However, when I try to connect the line back to the switch it won't seal.

I thought the pull handles down on the left of the driver lets in the fresh air?  I don't believe this pneumatic button worked because it was always pressed in.  Do I need this pneumatic control?

Just fold the white air line over to crimp it and zip tie it. Done.

Great idea.  Why didnt I think of that.  Any good idea of where to buy parts for the bis?

You're going to have to investigate the position of the fresh air damper now that you have neutered the control.

Many bus conversions get built that do not do a good job of changing the air inside. This stock system is already there, ready to go.

How manyof those cable handles are beside your driver's seat? If you have the button, you won't have the whole set of cables.

Personal choice, but I would be restoring and maintaining the ability to open and close the fresh air intake so I could manage the air exchange, humidity and engine temp if forced to idle overnight in the cold.

in concert with a big webasto coolant boiler and a bypass to spin the coach HVAC blower when camping.

There are three controls next to the seat.  Although, the fresh air handle for the passenger is broken.  I don't think the button was working because you couldn't push it in or out.  So you are suggesting purchasing a new button?  I would be happy to do that but I can't seem to find it online.  I have know idea where to go to purchase parts for the bus.  Where do you purchase parts?

From the manufacturer, or vendors who sell heavy vehicle parts?

Same as you do for your auto?
