If your rivets are tight, a good paint job is all that is needed.

You can do bed liner material for about the same cost and it holds up better IMO

Are you talking about the roof coatings used on school buses?  Elastomeric coating?  It not only insulates the roof, but is good for preventing leaks.  I think it only comes in white.

It a different product Geoff  very pricey they had a booth at the tent in Quartzsite and were quoting like 4 grand for a 25 ft travel trailer installed about 20 bucks a square ft applied  ;D it looks like about the same a bed lining type material to me FWIW.There is a RV shop here that does the Flex Armor he charges a $135.00 a liner ft for it installed

You can paint the roof with a good quality house paint, and It'll hold up well. Used it on my Brill and it looked as good 10 years later after scrubbing it to remove the usual build up. Never peeled either.

I use the white elastomeric stuff that costs around 25.bucks a gal. I wash the roof once and sometimes twice a year with a mild bleach solution and a brush and if the white is wearing, I recoat. My first application took almost 5 gals, now I got it down to less than 1 gal and every other year or so as needed. Just a matter of waiting for the right weather.  ;D

I used "Bus-Kote".  It's been durable and I noticed a difference in temps immediately.  Not cheap but it does as it's supposed to.

Try silicone roof coating, NOT siliconized, Lowe's has one from Henry about $200 For 5 gal. Pail and enough to do your roof, FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS INCLUDING PREP - HTH

Actually, I used the Henry product on my last bus, with good results
The trick, obviously is the prep. I wire brushed the complete surface and primed.
Was trying to avoid the labor, but for the 6500 dollars they wanted to spray, I could take some time off from work.
Thanks for the feedback

Everything is a compromise...

In the effort to seal/cool/reflect/absorb/insulate...

If the chosen goop has a texture, not being smooth...

It traps dirt, and you can get streaking down the sides when it rains.

No problem for those who like to wash the coach frequently, however, a big pain for those who wish for a less maintenance intensive clean appearance.

Happy coaching!

Henry's Tropi-cool is what I was planning on doing.

I saw the same Henry's on eBay for $85.12, free shipping, which is less than half the price and no tax.
